PTB Big News Jalandhar : A major operation was carried out by the Jalandhar Rural Police today as part of the ongoing strict prevention campaign against drug trafficking and criminal elements. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harvinder Singh Virk and under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Mr. Sarabjit Rai, a special cordon and search operation (CASO) was conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police Onkar Singh Brar in various areas of Sub-Division Nakodar on December 03.
Jalandhar Rural Polices major checking drive, strict action against drug trafficking continues
SSP Mr. Harvinder Singh Virk said that the operations are being carried out by the Jalandhar Rural Police with a special strategy under the war on drugs campaign. Based on the complaints received from the people, information was being received about wrongdoings by some elements in often uninhabited places. Keeping this in mind, a special search and spot inspection was conducted today of all such uninhabited places in the district.
The police will now conduct daily special checks on these places after identifying them, so that no element can use these places for wrong instructions. Surveillance will be further strengthened at these places. During today’s CASO operation, a large-scale checking was carried out in Nakodar sub-division. During this operation, the police also obtained many important sources and information, on the basis of which more strict action will be taken.

SSP Jalandhar Rural said that if any youth is found involved in such activities, he will be helped by sending him to a rehabilitation center/drug-free center and it will also be investigated from where he used to get the wrong material or supply it to anyone else. This action makes it clear that the Jalandhar Rural Police is standing with full determination and commitment in the war against drugs.
The main objective of this campaign is to completely break the supply chain of drugs, break the morale of the smugglers and protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs. Such actions by the Jalandhar Rural Police will continue with greater speed and rigor in the future so that a drug-free and safe society can be established.
