PTB City News Jalandhar : Three robbers carried out a movie-style robbery at a medical store in the posh Ladhewali area of Jalandhar in the evening. The shopkeeper was alone inside when the incident occurred. Surprisingly, they managed to carry out the robbery despite the busy evening and heavy traffic on the road. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the shop.
When the robbers tried to escape, people caught one of them after hearing the shopkeeper’s screams. After which the police of Rama Mandi police station have registered a case in connection with the robbery. Regarding the robbery, Krishna Medical Store owner Balwinder said that as soon as evening fell.
Three masked robbers armed with sharp weapons entered his shop and tried to attack him with a big axe. Balwinder said that he somehow managed to escape through the back gate and started screaming. He said that the robbers fled with his mobile phone and Rs 5,000 in cash. Hearing his screams, people caught one of the fleeing robbers. After which the caught robber was handed over to the police.
Balwinder said that the police recovered his mobile phone from the arrested robber, but two others fled with his cash. Balwinder said that a case has been registered in connection with the robbery and he appeals to the government and the police administration to increase police patrols in the area and deploy PCR personnel on 24-hour patrols.
A police officer from Rama Mandi police station said that the robbers entered the medical store while one was standing outside. He added that the robbers tried to attack the medical store with a sharp weapon, but the shopkeeper escaped. When the robbers tried to flee after seeing the robbery completed, the shopkeeper raised a noise and people gathered nearby. One of the robbers was caught and handed over to the police.
The officer said that the robbers were armed with big axes and knives, but there was no pistol. The officer said that the arrested robber is a resident of Sheikhpura village under Bilga police station and of the two robbers who escaped, one is a resident of Santokhpura area and the other is still unidentified. The officer said that a case of robbery has been registered.
